Our selection of showerheads and handshowers offers a variety of options to suit different bathroom styles and showering preferences, from classic fixed showerheads to versatile handheld designs and even combination systems. Whether you're replacing an existing showerhead, renovating your bathroom or building a new shower in your basement, you'll find options in a range of styles, spray patterns and finishes to complement your space and suit your lifestyle.
A fixed showerhead is mounted to the shower wall or shower arm and stays in place during use. It provides a consistent spray pattern and is a simple, popular choice for many bathrooms. A handheld showerhead, also called a handshower, is connected to a flexible hose and can be removed from it's holder for more control and flexibility. Handshowers are especially convenient for rinsing, cleaning the shower and bathing children or pets.
You can also choose a combination showerhead and handshower, which provides both a fixed showering experience and flexibility of a handheld fixture.
Yes, a handheld showerhead can be used as the primary showerhead in your bathroom. Many handheld showerheads come with a wall-mounted holder, allowing you to install the hand shower at a convenient height and use it much like a traditional fixed showerhead for a hands-free shower experience. When needed, you can easily remove the handheld showerhead from its holder for greater control over the water direction. Handheld showerheads also come in handy for cleaning the shower and tub, and reaching hard-to-clean areas.
Use CLR Calcium, Lime and Rust Remover to dissolve hard water and mineral build-up. Mix equal parts of CLR and warm water in a bowl or plastic bag, and submerge the removed showerhead (or secure a bag around an attached showerhead) in the mixture for no longer than 2 minutes. Using an old toothbrush or soft brush, gently remove loosened crust and mineral deposits. Wash the showerhead completely with cold water before using it again.
Using the same method, you can use white vinegar as well, but allow it to soak for 30 minutes, or overnight for heavy buildup.
